G4S "gas meter" reading - TV Licencing

Options
please read here https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5205850

"Just had a visit from a man with a G4S logo on his top.

He asked if he could read my gas meter, to which I replied that I dont have gas, so that would be difficult. He then left... at least I thought he had. 2 minutes later I hear the letterbox go, to which I find a TV Licencing "I called" leaflet. I dont have a TV licence. Moments later I see a G4S sign written little Toyota drive off.

So I'm guessing the gas meter reading was a ploy to come in and gain evidence of a supposed TV...

For those this concerns.. beware of G4S entering your home!"

They are more than welcome to check me out, I always get a license.
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.

I would guess because you reported it.....

I see you've removed the link to your name address and phone number from your profile.

    Very sensible

Hi! What a surprise to find you commenting on one of my posts. :)

I only reported a single aspect of that thread ... I didn't report the whole thread. And I even followed up (by email) to MSE that the report was no longer relevant as the issue had been resolved. MSE wouldn't have had any reason to pull the whole thread on the basis of my report, so you are spreading misinformation and trying to apportion blame where it doesn't lie. (Not that I'm surprised).

It seems basic common sense to realise that when you report a post in a thread where the first post is just "please delete" that the whole thread will be removed.....

I like the insinuation that I always comment on your posts. I had you on ignore until about a month ago when you got PPR'd, setup another account and went a bit crazy! At that point I took you off ignore as I was enjoying the craic ;)

How do you know it was him that put that card through your door?

G4S have their fingers in a lot of pies.

They also go into pubs to check if they are showing satalite football games illegally.

That sounds to me like Trolling. Without taking anyone's side in this childish playground tat, it might be a good idea to click back on their ignore before more PPR's get introduced. ;)

Do many people have their gas meter in their living room then?
