Hi

I have a question regarding a recent claim that I put into BA but got a reply saying it is not them that is responsible.

I was supposed to fly from LSI to LGW via EDI on 1 Feb 11. The details of my booking was as follow:
LSI-EDI BA4092 0740-0910
EDI-LGW BA2937 1025-1145

BA4092 is actually a Loganair flight with a Flybe flight number of BE4092. However my booking was with BA and had a BA booking number.

BA/BE4092 was cancelled due to a technical fault and I ended up travelling on BA4094 and BA1453 arriving at LHR (not LGW) at 1705 instead.

I had sent off the standard letter to BA and their reply is that I should claim from Loganair instead since they are the ones that operate BA4092. Given that Loganair is a Flybe franchisee, does it mean I have to contact Flybe instead?

Another problem is BA/BE4092 arrived in EDI at 1255 which makes it impossible for me to get on BA2937 as originally booked, which is why I was put on BA1453 instead.

All these sounded really complicated and that is the cost of living on a remote island. Should I go to some no win no fees claim service instead for this?

Thanks.

BA are correct, you can only claim against Loganair as the operating carrier. However I think you need to make sure you get your facts correct, you say BE 4092 was cancelled and you were put on 4094 but then you say 4092 arrived at 1255 so it wasn't cancelled? Just make sure when writing to Loganair you put everything down correctly, if you were moved to another flight, then there is no need to discuss the arrival of the original flight which may not have actually been cancelled at all but simply delayed.

Start by writing a polite letter to Loganair, you might be pleasantly surprised!

    Booked for:
    LSI-EDI BA4092 0740-0910
    EDI-LGW BA2937 1025-1145

BA4092 cancelled and flew instead on BA4094 which arrived in EDI at 1255. Sorry for the typo. Because of that, I missed BA2937 and flew on BA1453 to LHR not LGW as booked.

Ok, question, the guides and information I had read about talk about the final arrival time. In my case, my final arrival time was more than 3 hours, but that was due to an earlier flight on the same ticket. So it is still Loganair that I go after instead of BA which operate the final flight?

As for sending Loganair a nice letter, I think I will not bother. I had many experience with them and even a clear cut case of missing bags, they just ignore my claims and told me to get lost to my insurance instead.

Yes it is, there was no issue with the BA flight, you just missed it because of the delay
