Halfords Trade Card advise needed
Hi,
I reserved some service parts like filters, oil etc. for my car on the Halfords website to my local store.
I have to wait like 2 days for my reservation is ready to be collected.
So I waited 2 days and took my trade card with me to my local store and the cashier said trade card is not valid for online orders, trade card is only valid for in store items only.
Can anyone share their experiences regarding this?

Did you pay for the parts online or in-store? If online, then I'd imagine that trade card discounts are not applicable because there is no way to validate your trade membership. What do the T&C's say?No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Its pay in store similar to argos reserves.0

That doesn't sound right, either it's an online order where you pay the price online and simply collect from the store (hence no trade card involvement), or it's a store order where you pay for the items in store and present your trade card.
I would ask to speak with the duty manager.0 -
What you need to do is get them to scan the items individually not scan the barcode on the order paperwork.
I get this all the time.0 -
Ask them to cancel the order and sell you the parts on the trade card.0

Same here, it's ridiculous but I just smile sweetly, say I'll cancel the click and collect and get them to scan them separately.0 -
May I ask a question about Trade cards please?
Must you hand in your Trade card when you retire?

Cashier said trade card only works on items for sale in the store.
Cashier said my order was delivered to the store hence the reason I waited 2 days for my click & collect order. Cashier said trade card doesnt work on orders delivered to store but I didnt pay for my order.
Is the cashier telling the truth?0 -
get them cheaper , use a proper motor factors in future
trade? , they will give you sympathy if you show a halfrauds trade card0 -
If the item is a Halfords normal stock item then it will scan through the till at trade price, if it is a special order from a supplier such as EuroCarParts or UKPA then it has a ticket price which is different if ordered through retail or trade and can not be changed.0
