Best way to get rid of a garden shed?

Hi

Sorry, for the obscure question, but we have an old garden shed that we don't want any more (it is going rotten in places and - since we changed the layout of the garden - doesn't really look good where it is. If we got a replacement shed, we would site elsewhere). It has concrete slabs underneath too - which I would also like to get rid of.

Really stupid question, but how would you go about getting rid of something like this. Who would you call? I am a small woman and my husband isn't big or strong either.

Thanks

Offer it on Freegle with a note to say taker must dismantle.
We get them like that in our area all the time and they seldom need repeat listings.

Even ones that are the worst for wear? Presumably they won't take the slab/s?

People will not only take slabs, they will BUY them if you offer them on gumtree. Seriously, people want stuff like this. I'm scanning the ads for some paving slabs myself at the moment!

If the shed is really worse for wear, then you won't need to be very strong at all to break it down. If its reasonably sturdy then someone will be interested if you advertise it.

They will take the shed away just to get at the slabs :)

Advertise it honestly, warts & all and include the slabs with the shed and you should have no bother shifting it.

If it's that bad it wouldn't take much smashing up. Me and my husband dragged ours to the middle of the lawn and pushed it over and it smashed into pieces - very satisfying! Then took the bits to the local recycling centre but I appreciate you would need a trailer for that.
As others have said, be honest and put it on freecycle and I'm sure someone will come take it.

A freegler will either patch it up and use it or break it up and use the wood to keep warm.

This is good to know, thanks all :)

It is rotting in a few places - probably be fine with a few boards replaced and new felt put on the roof.

It is hard to see what is going on underneath, but it may be one big slab... Is that likely/possible? Presumably that would make it difficult/impossible for someone to take away? Will try to take/post a photo later...

Seriously? I have a garden full of bricks, paving slabs and gravel (and a shed) that I want to get rid of and I thought I'd offer them on freecycle (or whatever it's called now) as I thought they might be something that allotment holders would want. Everyone I mentioned that to said that was a stupid idea but I might just give it a go now :)

Definitely try Freecycle or Freegle! Sheds and slabs are put on ours all the time and they are taken very quickly. The person who wants it has to dismantle or at least assist. Describe the condition - people are very willing to repair. If it really is beyond repair then it is firewood and will be snapped up straight away then as well!
