That was my chosen charity. They haven't refunded me yet as I need a letter from them stating the dishwasher is no longer in my possession.

Have you received any instructions from Tesco about the disposal? If not, you were not in a position to 'chose' anything. Also a 'disposal center' doesn't sound like a 'charity'. E.g. many companies 'dispose' cars and pay for them.

Yes I have received instruction from them. Hence why I 'chose' a charity of my choice. After 'under cover boss' the disposal centres have agreed that items were being destroyed that needn't. Therefore they have a section now where you can hand in bikes, TV's, sofas e.c.t. That have nothing wrong with them and they will be given to charity. That was my choice as charity shops where I live don't accept electrical items. Therefore that seemed the best idea, no?!

I have no idea what "After 'under cover boss' " means.

If the "clear instructions" that you received said nothing about "a letter on headed paper" that they invented later, then stick to your guns, get a deadlock letter from Tesco and complain to the FOS.

'Undercover boss' was on channel 4, basically executives go undercover in their own companies to get a true picture of how their business is being run. Thanks for advice about deadlock letter.
