What's the point in building houses when you can never keep up with demand anyway ? Surely the answer is to control demand by reducing immigration from the net 320,000 incoming economic migrants last year. That will also help schools, the NHS, welfare etc. Nobody seems to have commonsense these days !! :(

"Commonsense"........ If there are no immigrants, who is going to pay for our ever ageing population?

Presumably the same people who pay for Schooling, NHS, Child Benefit, and (for some) the tax credits, housing benefit, unemployment benefit, and disability benefit of the immigrants themselves.

I wonder how many labour supporters actually "support" labour policies and think they are good - compared to how many just think tories are evil and everything that is wrong with the world is down to thatcher

The most arrogant thing I've seen written on this board in some time (and that is saying something).

To be fair though, you have concisely summed up why so many people think Tories are evil.

I think you are being a little bit harsh on a valid point of view from our equine friend.

To criticise his "wonder" is tantamount to 'policing thoughts'. Freedom of speech in the UK may well have been a little bit curtailed of late, but to have harsh censure of thoughts takes us into a new dimension......

If you want just a tad nearer arrogance, then perhaps you should wait around until someone 'asserts' [rather than 'wonders'] that Labour supporters don't 'understand' [rather than 'support'] Labour policies. That is still not arrogance. More an expression of a perfectly lawful opinion which anyone should be free to articulate.

TBH, it's basically impossible to support Labour if you are either numerate or a net taxpayer. So Labour's support is effectively the poor and the stupid or at least those too stupid to understand the impact of what they're voting for.

I work in the public sector, I'd never vote labour, although to be fair only about 25% of my overall income comes from my salary. I'm not sure that I could force myself to vote labour though, even if my income was 100% from my salary.

Gen are you saying that throughout history it is the poor and stupid that have always voted Labour. I certainly hope not for if it is so my opinion of you had just hit the floor.
