S&S ISA, how is it going for you so far?

I'm just curious about people who've entered into an S&S ISA and wanted to ask if some of you wouldn't mind divulging your returns and how the experience has been for you so far.
1) When did you start your S&S ISA?
2) What did you invest in? (Don't have to answer if you don't want to)
3) How much do you invest per year?
4) How much profit have you made in total?
So for example you could say
1) 2012
2) Vanguard LifeStrategy / Prefer not to say
3) The maximum
4) I've invested £40,000 and now my ISA is worth £48,000 so £8,000 profit
Sorry if this seems either stupid or personal but I really just want to see real life examples of what people have made or what people lost. It's hard to find honest answers to these questions.

You can look up historical returns for any fund easily - and therefore work out whatever you would have made on xxxx invested in year xxxx
With that said,0 -

With that said,
Yes I know I can but I don't want to look at the absolute best or the absolute worst or the markets in general. I want to hear real results from people here on the forum who I know are answering because they want to not because they're trying to sell a product or service.0 -
1. 2004.
2. index funds, commodity ETFs, UK and international blue chips.
3. full allowance (his and hers) if possible
4. Not enough, mainly because of selling winners too early and holding onto losers too long. Slowly moving towards a simple 2 fund portfolio to give me less chance to screw things up.0 -
Edit: To better answer question 4, I have downloaded historic statements from our iii accounts into a spreadsheet.
In total we have deposited £176,084. And actually opened them in 2006, not 2004.
We withdrew £107,046 a few years ago when we bought a house, effectively resetting the slate.
The balance is currently £116,314
Trading commission and fees around £3,000 (I have not worked it out exactly).
This includes a trading account which I opened to buy some AIM and international equities which were not allowable in the ISAs at the time0 -
1. 2008
2. FTSE 100/250 shares
3. Drip feeding £100 per month

1. 2005.
2.A very diverse selection of funds, investment trusts, ETFs, individual equities. All selected with the idea of leaving them alone indefinitely.
3.Fully invested now in the ISA (£320k), but adding to investments outside of it (p2p, property, et al) occasionally.
4. Making around 20% annually on the ISA investment as a total return.
Edit: Sorry, that's not quite right. £320k includes a large element in an ordinary share account, of which my ISA allowance gets moved into the ISA each year. It also includes my wife's ISA which I run.I am one of the Dogs of the Index.0 -
1) 1999 but used TESSAs and PEPs before then.
2) It used to be various high fee funds via St James' Place, but is now nearly 100% in low fee trackers.
3) We invested heavily to start with, but with a leaner period for the 1st few years of this millennium, but we've been doing max allowance every April since then.
4) Dunno! There's a right lot of money in there, but I've never bothered to work out total return.
For what it's worth, we've got no plans to touch the ISAs until our unwrapped investments, including pension lump sums, have all been used up.I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.

1) 2004
2) Up to now UK allshare tracker, soon to be VHYL ETF (worldwide fund)
3) The max (used to also do so in wife's name too, before flexi ISA's)

1. About six weeks ago!
2. Vanguard LS 80% equities
3. Started with £1200 lump sum + £100 month going forward.
4. Up about £50 last time I checked (about 4%).
Seriously considering switching to the 100% equities version. I have £4000+ in a cash isa fixed at 2.4% with about 18 months to run. That will be going in also as will £3600 when my First Direct regular saver ends in six months.0
