Cracked sidewalls are the concern, but on the main tread area there are multiple layers of different rubber/material, that cracking is merely on the surface.......

Difficult when, on modern tread patterns, the shoulder tread is often 2 or 3mm shallower than the rest. That would entail throwing them away when they've still got 5mm+ where it really matters!0 -
my original CPC2's on a suzuki swift have similar cracks as well, only done 22000 miles from new by me and the previous owner , tyres made in 10th week 2011. About 3mm in the fronts and 5mm at the backs. suppose it's a common issue with this model0
