I hate the new forum look

Can I just be the first to say how utterly ghastly the new look MSE forum is. There is a nasty thin spidery font & it's generally cluttered.

There is little banner at the top of the screen:-
Hi Everyone, welcome to our new look Forum. You can switch back to the old Forum for a short while.
Well I for one cannot switch back.

It's just this moment automatically reverted to the 'old' layout having been reading posts in the 'new' format.

I've been involved with a number of forums over the years, many of which have changed their formatting, which is uncomfortable to start, but I reluctantly have tried to get used to the new arrangement, but if the discomfort stays with me I tend to fade away from the forum.

By the first look at this new formatting, I might be in danger of fading from here.

I never joined CAG, because I think the formatting and layout doesn't make for an easy read; I periodically contribute to PePiPoo, but, in my view, the layout there is not in the same league as MSE (old).

The one feature I couldn't find in the new layout was a 'Forum Jump' button. Maybe I just didn't spot it before the pages reverted.

Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

The new version ( while it lasted ) was vile .... almost unusable.

Too bright and too much space. Loses half your signature and as for the avatars - I'm sure Microsoft will want paying as they appear to have been stolen straight out of Visio.

if it stays the way it was presented, people like myself (and those above) are far less likely to be coming here

I see BBC NEWS page has done a similar trick, yet I prefer the old format

I am sure these techie geeks alter these things because they have nothing better to do

Coca Cola tried it quite a few years ago , didnt take them long to go back to the tried and tested version though

admins , leave it alone !!!

You missed it. The whole site went very visually painful for an hour or two earlier.

You're one of the lucky ones! 'Twas not a sight for sore eyes (or any eyes for that matter!).

Usually they still offer the old theme in the user control panel. (It's not the first time MSE have messed up changed the forum theme). So if it changes again, check there. :)
