I want to leave TalkTalk so I've asked them for MAC as I beleived that is what I would need.
The advisor I spoke to said because I am on LLU they couldn't give me a MAC.
Is this correct and can I sign up with another provider without a MAC and everything transfer without much downtime and no unexpected charges from TalkTalk. The 12 month contract I had with TalkTalk ends 1st April.

It is correct. You don't need a MAC to move from an LLU provider and having another company take over will take 10 to 14 days usually.
If you are keeping your number it will all happen pretty smoothly.
If you aren't keeping your number, then you will still need to contact talk talk to cancel the services as taking a new line with a new provider generally wont automatically cancel your old line on talk talks own system.0
