faulty shower pump and british gas

after few days of shower pump making strange noises it packed up and stopped working. i did not think much about it as i have home emergency cover with british gas (the max. cover-400 cover) but i had nasty surprise when i phoned BG who told me the pump is not covered:mad: ...this is really not fair as i have being paying them £25 a month for the last six years and never called them for any thing!!..is there anyway around this? i tried the website of homeserve and shower pump is included in their cover so why not in BG cover which costs £2 more than homeserve:eek:

    £25*12*6 = £1,800.

That pays for an awful lot of repairs.

Average price to supply & fit a replacement shower pump? about £300-£350.

Sorry, but I can't think of anything else useful to say.
