See, for me, long warranties don't really mean much cos wear and tear seems to be the loophole...most cars will have 'wear and tear' in 5-7 years..which is what the cover is for isn't it?

Tried both, prefer the IX35. It had steering and suspension tweaks end of 2013 and drives better than the Kia in my opinion. Better ride with less roll and the ergonomics felt better.

IX35 is also replaced later this year probably so deals should be had.

That's odd, we tried the IX35 but felt it was a bit staid. It was a joint Kia/Hyundai dealership so I asked the salesman who bought the ix35 in preference to the Sportage. He said the ix35 was more popular with the older generation.

Once my wife heard that, there was no way she was going to have one.

It is but they kia warranty is limited to 100,000 where the Hyundai is 5 years unlimited. I do more than 20k a year so the extra 2 years would have been irrelevant for me.

I also looked at the mitsubishi ASX - it's smaller, duller and not as good value for money.
