I have been using Elemis pro intense lift effect. I think it really has made a difference, my skin feels lifted and in the year I have been using it the 'sagging' of my skin has reduced. It is expensive but you only use a little each day.

Before that I used the Boots lift and illuminate. It removed an age spot from my face totally! But I didn't notice a marked lifting effect as I have with the Elemis.

Creme de la mer is fantastic! Use sparingly though. I buy it very occasionally as a treat.
But as others have said lots of water and good nights sleep work wonders. Maybe an occasional detox also! Hope you find the holy grail and let us know what worked best.

Yep I agree with Jaylee3, basically: don't smoke, don't sunbathe (and always wear sun block)!
I meet a lot of ladies as part of my work and have noticed:
1/ it's best to stay up to date with clothes and hair and makeup (mutton dressed as lamb not a good look though!)
2/ you can spend as much as you like on cosmetic surgery but you'll still look carp unless you cheer up a bit, strangely the two are often mutually exclusive!
3/ the people who look best aren't necessarily the ones who look the youngest.
Good luck with your quest though,
    love, Daisy x

You have tried some very good products, it may be that some other aspect of your skincare regime might need tweaking. Double cleansing? the addition of a serum and or oil? better but gentle exfoliation? One product that I will never be without is hyaluronic acid in the form of Indeed Labs Hydraluron, at full price about £25 from B**ts, applied after serum and or oil, but before moisturiser. Often on special offer, read some of the reviews, suits most skin types even my ultra sensitive.

If you are interested in skin care and have a few hours to spare look up Caroline Hirons aka Beauty Mouth for some of the most informed and down to earth advice to be found on the interweb:D

I've probably tried most of the best, I'm searching for the one that makes me never want to try anything else.

Tried that too, I like Elemis, I don't love it.

However, I think I've found one I do love.

Alpha-H - I'm loving it right now. I've got the balancing cleanser, the instant facial, the liquid gold, the spf 50+ Moisturiser, the hydration cream (for the non liquid gold nights) & the best of all, the eye cream, it's the first time I've ever really bothered with an eye cream, but I'm loving this one!
Got the hand cream too - lol

Good for you, just enjoy using and keep at it.

I cannot use Alpha H, due to mild rosacea but many love the brand.

Nivea, in the blue pot -you know the really cheap stuff, came out tops against Crème De La Mer. Infact, they were almost identical but the nivea done a better job. Something to think about ;)

OP, the only thing to work on any signs of aging is retinol/retin-a. Most of the high street brands containing it have such tiny traces it's pointless though. BUT if you do get a good one it will do the job. Just make sure you only use it every few days (at night time) to start with, make sure you have cleansed and dried your skin at least 30 mins before applying etc aswell and also put a good hydrating cream on top (maybe even the blue pot nivea,if you have dry skin) because otherwise you will end up with the flakiest most snake like skin you could ever imagine and will look dreadful!

build up your sensitivity to it and you'll be fine

Pop over to mumsnet for some suggestions on specific creams

Do you have a link to where you read this, please? It'd be useful to be able to see how they conducted the study and what the sample size etc was, in order to assess how scientifically valid the comparison was.
