I wonder if it's this person in the ITV winners club http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.php?p=65564211&postcount=393

I remember this winner, he had a spam email about it too. Here's the thread https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4974544

So it seems like you were the second choice when the first person didn't claim, and they then claimed a few days later.

Ahhh so does this mean they would have beaten me to the claim if I had called? I did receive exactly the same email with the same date that this person did though - so that's strange!

ETA: Yep, just checked, this is the post from the eventual winner

and they did win the 3rd March competition but weren't notified until May
So it looks like they redrew after they couldn't get hold of you :(

    Jinx!

Actually, that winner was notified in april with a deadline of 16th may. He claimed on 19th may. So he was the first. Tarfy had an email dated 19th may, presumably sent out just a few hours before the prize was claimed by the original winner. Could have been a sticky situation if Tarfy had seen the email on the actual day of sending/at the time. Wonder what they would have done if Tarfy went to claim within her time frame but they had already given the prize out to someone who claimed late?
Thank you to everyone who posts on the competitions boards. You all rock!

I imagine they have copy/pasted the winning email and not changed the deadline dates. The original winner had about 3 weeks to claim. Yours was weirdly backdated and had a same day deadline.

Like I say, it could have been a horrible disaster of two people claiming at once if they had given you a 3 week deadline like he had, and you had seen the email.

Oh my goodness - this makes me feel so much better! I'm so glad I didn't take the prize from somebody else for the same reason that they didn't check their spam. Sooooooooo relieved to know this information. Thanks for all your support everyone

I won a £10,000 dream holiday that I missed out on because somehow I didn't see the email for 5 months, even though it was in my inbox! Could've kicked myself!
