Car on Gumtree - are these messages potential scams ?

I know a vigilante-minded guy who's profiled just one of the gangs that do vehicle scams on gumtree - then he gets the ads taken down. One gang is responsible for at least 50 a day. Gumtree do respond - but they respond, not actively filter, so it's a bed of crime.
