iPad Sim Data Only Deals (contract v pre-paid)

Hello to you all. I have got an iPad mini (cellular, obviously!) on the cheap. I am looking for a data only SIM as I want to use the device for shopping online once or twice a week and accessing hotmail.*
I also may want to download some of the music production software (free and paid for) to mess about with.
Once I have downloaded the music software I honestly don't think I will use it for anything other than email and shopping.
Would I be better-off on prepaid? And what are the best deals out there? My ISP (TalkTalk) has a contract SIM for £3.75 a month but the usage limit is ridiculously low (less than 1GB!).
Anyone got any recommendations? Sorry to be vague but I am shooting in the dark here.
*I won't be connecting the device to my WiFi. I had all sorts of virus and malware problems a few months ago and just do not trust the connection to be secure with private and sensitive data. Paranoid? Who said that?

Try the EE 4G PAYG SIMs and see how you get on.
£20 or less for 6GB lasting up to 3 months on Amazon.
As for the fear of WiFi, you are very unlikely to have a problem with the connection and the PC won't "sniff" the iPad data.0 -
PC World/ Currys do a 12 month prepaid sim you get 1gb a month for £24.99 up front, so just over £2 a month.
It's called KNOWHOW, and they use the Three network.
Normally £39.99 so £15 off at the moment.
