Csa and Bank/Savings Account?

Evening my friends.

I was after some advice please. I was working with someone I hadn't met before and he started talking about the issues he had with the csa. He went on to say that they were able to see and confirm with him what amount of money he had in his account and the balance on his credit cards... Can they do this or was he just a bull*******?

Also while I am on the topic can the csa see what kind of savings you have in a isa or a normal savings account? and if so are they also able if it even became necessary to enforce money from the savings pot so to speak?

Thanks in advance.

;)

They are able, in cases which have extreme arrears, take money directly from bank accounts so yes, they probably can see but would need to jump through a few hoops to have the authority I would imagine.

    Ok thanks for confirming that.

What about a persons savings so for example money you might have put away in a cash isa?

Your mate doesn't have to 'worry' until he has over £65K.
The rumour is then that they assess the amount at 8%
But show me an account that pays 8% interest?

    Oh right Hahahaha

So they could see how much you have but can't do anything if under £65k?

Seeing him later so I can advise further on it.

    Thanks for replies so far.

    Hahahaha good point mate :A

As you seem in the known regards csa or cms or what ever they like to be called now. Is it still going to plan as in they hope for all cases to be done by 2018 I think I read somewhere a while ago?

My case started in 2005 and have paid every month without fail but have heard nothing yet about it switching over...

I understand only new cases are going onto the CMS system, and many current cases will just arrive at their natural conclusion.
Those in a 'war' or estranged from the offspring are less stressed with just contributing as they should, it's up to them if they want to contribute over and above, but as they get no thanks for it, many do not, but that's not illegal.

They can remove money from bank accounts without their being £65k assets - you only have to read back on some of the posts on here to see they have done it before.
