Urgent Help with delay

I went on a family holiday to Tenerife with my partner and her daughter. I flew back to the UK (no problems
), but her flight to Tallinn via Helsinki with Finnair was cancelled because of a technical problem. They're flying a spare part for the plane tomorrow. But because of the delay and interconnecting flights (all with Finnair), she will arrive 36 hours later than expected.
Finnair has got them accommodation and food for tonight, but have not been very helpful in getting her home sooner. To top it off, she will get less than 2 hours at home before she has to take another Finnair flight for work! (They have agreed to change her flight to a later one so she will actually have time to unpack and pack...)
What compensation can she claim, and what expenses can she claim for whilst she's waiting? Also, is there any way in which they should be helping both of them to get home sooner or does she just have to accept their 'offer'?
Many thanks

Hi Normal,
You should find all the information you need in the "Sticky" at the top of this page.
The airline is providing food and accommodation, which they are obliged to do in the circumstances, but I think any additional expenses incurred will have to be claimed on your insurance.
When you've read the Sticky, please post in the relevant airline thread if you need further help or advice.0 -
Many thanks. The FAQ information seems to have disappeared. I can't find information about food, accommodation etc and obligation to help for alternative flights etc. Any links to further information as the guide doesn't cover these?0

Plenty of info on the forum but if you want to check the 'law' Google 261/2004 and go from there.0 -
Another question not seemed to be covered anywhere. How much compensation can you claim if the flight is more than 3500km, more than 4 hours and inside the EU? It appears the flight is 4780km.0

Cannot talk you through the whole 'law' but if you refer to Article 7 section (c) you will see - for the question you have asked - it is 600€.0 -
