Getting drugs through customs of EU airports

We have travelled all over the world with class A drugs. You need a letter from the doctor, that they are prescribed for you and also the medicines need to have the original prescription labels on them.
Never take more with you than are required for the stay whereever you are going, but a prescription from your doctor could get you more if needed from a local pharmacy.
Probably not too much a problem in the EU, but as we used to travel to Asia, then a very important point. As Manuel says in Fawlty Towers: " I Know Nothing"0 -

It really isn't as simple as you imply, having a valid prescription for the drugs does not suddenly legalise their importation and possession around the world.
You really need to research the laws of any countries you are travelling to or through, keep in mind that having any sort of criminal record which involves drugs will make it impossible to travel to many countries, and also make it very difficult to visit many more.0 -
It is reasonably simple, my OH has to take pethidine and use morphine patches for a back condition after a riding accident. In about 30 years, we have never had a problem in visiting places that have strict drug laws, e.g. Indonesia, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam,
Doctors letter and disclose on arrival you have them, in Europe, you are not likely to be locked up, unless you abuse the system.
I agree, if you have a record then it may be difficultAs Manuel says in Fawlty Towers: " I Know Nothing"0 -
Well just keep your fingers crossed and hopefully you'll never get caught entering one of the numerous countries where those drugs are illegal

Given the choice between being caught entering the UK carrying marijuana and a valid prescription or being caught entering the UAE with some morphine and a valid prescription I'll take the UK option every time.
If you're really unlucky you'll end up with a fine in the UK, while at the end of the spectrum the UAE often lock people up for several years for 'smuggling' poppy seeds, I wonder how many kg of poppy seeds are required to match the amount of Morphine you carry around :eek:0 -
Rather pedantic. The UAE regulations are as linked. If needed although we have never had any interest in visiting there, we would have researched the info.

The OP asked about the EU, where there would probably be very little control. As Manuel says in Fawlty Towers: " I Know Nothing"0 -
