There is more chance of the solicitor dealing with the inheritance doing a flit with the money than a UK bank going bust.0

So if i had £50,000 in joint account i could transfer £25,000 to me, and £25,000 to partner and then we could each do a faster payment for £25,000 on that day?
No, the maximum is £25,000 regardless of whether it's a sole or joint account.savingsomemore wrote: »And is this separate from debit card payments? What is the limit on these (and is it a daily limit or a transaction limit)
Yes, it's separate and there's no set limit for debit card payments.

Hi jonesMUFCforever.
I've double checked this and there's not a set limit for debit card payments.
Thanks

Craig
sorry, but that cant be right, it implies that me and my partner cant send £25,000 each from our own, sole accounts.
Are you saying just because we also have a joint account, our daily, personal limit is only £12,500 each????0 -

Sorry, I've not been absolutely clear on everything you're describing. However, if you have a joint account and you also have a sole account with us, you'll be able to transfer £25,000 to that. In fact, that's classed as an internal transfer and the limit for that is actually £1,000,000. On the same day, you would also be able to pay £25,000 to your partner's account. It would then be possible for you to pay £25,000 from your sole account. If your partner's account is also with us, they would also be able to pay £25,000 from that.
You can find info on payment limits here. Limits are per account.
