Had the same about 6 years ago - 3 of us in the car, all realised it flashed - never got a ticket, bloody lucky. Absolutely gutted when it flashed though as I was passing it 2/day for god knows how long0

I got flashed 3 times (and once I was very fast - stupid me) with my scooter and I haven't received anything.
Are there a few fake camera around maybe?0 -
A speed camera flashed as I was going up the hill and someone else was going down the hill at the same time.
Cue about a month of thinking I'd get something in the post only to read that people aren't prosecuted for speeding past a GATSO that's facing towards them.
(And I don't think I was speeding anyway; I never do in that area)What will your verse be?

They ain't type approved for forward facing use.0 -
People with points for speeding have proven they are incapable of driving properly. They should be installing black boxes in the cars of these people so their speed can be monitored. We need to get these anti-social idiots off the road.0

I disagree. Most drivers have a modicum of common sense and know appropriate speeds for the kind of road they're on. Exceeding an arbitrary limit is not a sign of how good or bad they are at driving.
Exceeding a safe speed for the road and conditions is a sign of what kind of driver they are. Exceeding an arbitrary speed limit is most definitely not. What will your verse be?

You call up the police and they confirm they have nothing on the computer...
How do you celebrate?? as far as I'm aware, I'm £100 up now cos I was dead cert I'd have to pay and get 3 points. But now I'm
Sigh of relief and back to your normal patterns of speeding, or not.
That's what I do anyway.0 -

No, it just means they're oblivious to hazards like speed traps, radar guns etc. Speed limits are put in place to 'help' the lowest ability drivers. It isn't difficult to go drive above the speed limit on most roads when safe to do so, and doing so doesn't automatically mean you're a bad driver. In fact, I'd argue if you weren't comfortable doing something like 80 on the m1 at 2.00am you probably aren't competent enough to be behind the wheel.0
