Are all B/Band providers going on to fibre?

Getting c. 8mb on Tesco at present, which is fine for my needs- youview box streams OK, no need for superfast connection..
I am concerned at extra costs when TT take over, mainly cost issues, so wondered what firms still do 'standard' b/b - ie, not fibre, or is the industry pushing us all to upgrade yet again..?

8mb would be a superfast connection for me, 3 times my usual download speed on rural adsl.
I think I spotted a pig flying over the eclipsed sun this morning with regards to fibre ever being available on my exchange! So upgrading to fibre will never be pushed here.:mad:0 -
oddly, my average speed has increased lately.. even with (because of?) having a youview box..Long time away from MSE, been dealing real life stuff..

All ISP offer standard ADSL. FTTC is dependent on local cabinet availability, not the ISP, since it's a resold BT service. All the major ISP's offer it, subject to availability on your cab.
As above, many cabinets will never get it due to insufficient demand, so good old ADSL will be around for quite a while yet.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
On the other hand, they have definitely phased out dial-up connections.
I kept a Pay As You Go dial-up account going with Waitrose.com, so I can still do e-mail in case regular broadband failed, but they finally closed it down in January 2015.0 -
When you get transferred to TalkTalk you will get moved on to their LLU kit IF it is available -if not then they will move you on to another company Fleur Telecom, I believe, who are getting TT's remaining "standard" adsl customers. If I was with Tesco I'd jump ship now!0
