Morning, thought that I'd warn others about the horrendous customer service from Tyreshopper.co.uk. I'm shocked that companies still operate this way :mad::mad::mad:
Firstly, I've used tyreshopper for many years. However, it's true what they say; it's not until you have a problems that you the true measure of a company and the service they provide to customers.
In a nutshell, THYRESHOPPER PROVIDES THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE THAT I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED.
My story;
Ordered two budget tyres for my car and had them fitted at Hamilton branch of National. To be honest I’ve never been impressed with the service from here but it is the closest branch to have my tyre shopper tyres fitted. On the drive home. Car continually pulling to the right and steering wheel judder. I suspected that they hadn’t been balanced properly.
On my next day off returned to the branch and had to wait considerable time. This was an additional expense not just on my time but additional 16 miles round trip too. Watched the fitter check the balance on the two new tyres. Both were out. Fitter rebalanced them. They also tried to sell me a well balance. Declined at this stage as I had it done recently.
Returned home. My vehicle pulling harshly to the right again and extreme steering judder at speed.
Returned again to Hamilton branch on my next day off. More time wasted on day of PLUS another 16 mile round trip. Explained to staff at Hamilton branch. They couldn’t have been less interested and didn’t seem to care less. They told me to pay for front wheel alignment (apparently they don’t do the rear ones). I explained that I had only just had my wheel aligned and not had any bumps or knocks. Also that my car was driving perfectly with my old tyres. Out of sheer desperation and frustration I paid to have front wheels aligned and they were fine. Another additional expense.Returned home and the problem with steering pull and judder existed. Extremely frustrating and exasperating.
I then took my car to a trusted and respected independent garage. The confirmed that the steering pull and judder was there. They checked (and I paid) the alignment on all of my wheels, they checked that the wheels themselves were not damaged and that the there were no mechanical problems with my car (modern car, less than 30K on clock). As I mentioned, my car was driving perfectly before having the above tyres fitted. My garage confirmed that my car and wheels were perfect. They swapped out the tyres and the care drove perfectly.
They have shown that, unfortunately, it was the tyres that I purchased from Tyre Shopper that were defective and causing the steering pull and judder. All of the work was carried out at my own expense.
Now for Tyreshopper customer service: Basically they are not interested. All that they have done is quote their T&Cs which translates to them telling me that I have to return y car to the fitting centre, where I have to pay for another two tyres. They will then send off the existing two tyres that they fitted to the manufacturer, who will apparently test them for faults and if defective only them will they reimburse me for the tyres. Explained that I have purchased the tyres from them in good faith, paid additional £75 in garage fees, not to mention 4 return 16 mile repeated trips to their centre and I simply don't have any means to pay for replacement tyres to be fitted whilst they send the other ones off.
At no time did they show any goodwill of empathy for their service. They have lost a customer and I would urge all you to avoid. There are plenty of other similar retailers who are worthy of your custom..... AVOID and spread the word

I've just had a phone call from the regional manager of 'National Tyres' - apparently Tyreshopper.co.uk and National Tyres are the same company.
He seemed to think that by him as the regional manager giving me the same lip service resolution which entailed going back and spending more money and time to have their faulty tyres replaced would make me happy.
I'm a consumer of many goods and services and have had varying levels of customers service but NATIONAL TYRES AND TYRESHOPPER.CO.UK ARE THE WORST BY FAR. AVOID AT ALL COST!0 -
Thanks for the heads up- was looking at this site recently but will go elsewhere now.0

I find that kwik-fit tyres are usually cheaper but they do the hard sell on wheel alignment.
The Wheel alignment is a bit expensive but if you hold out they will do it for half price or you can just decline it.Lets not use quidco0 -
Glad you read this prior to buying. They couldn't care less if you have any issues. Spread the word.0

Just to provide some input, but what they have offered you is POSSIBLY the minimum legal requirements that they need to offer you under the Sales of Goods Act. I'd be more hacked off about all of the additional expenses rather than their offer of sending the tyres back to be tested (which may well be absolutely fine).
Ultimately though if you list your expenses and then discuss it with the company they may just relent and give you some compensation instead. You could even consider taking them to court if they have caused you to be unnecessarily out of pocket here0 -
You're absolutely right. All of the extra expense and hassle is what makes this worse. I've explained this to pretty much everyone at this company, including the regional manager today, and they couldn't care less.
STAY CLEAR OF THIS OUTFIT. Without doubt WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE IVE HAD FROM A COMPANY. They've effectively robbed me in broad daylight.0 -
So what make were these 'budget' tyres??"You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0
