This looks like it might be a 'service related to leisure activities to be supplied on a specific date', and as such is likely to be exempt from the cancellation provisions provided by The Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.

Thank you. I emailed him the link to the regulations with an attachment highlighting this area. I wasn't a !!!!!! about it though and expressed that I would have loved to use his postbox but with the wedding costing over £15000, I need every penny I can get. having one for free by the decor and venue people is a bonus.
He emailed back agreeing and stated that it only asks for a fair cancellation fee. Which it didn't. However, he has waived it as a 'goodwill gesture' and wished us all the best on the bog day and I have thanked him.
