There can be long queues at popular attractions even out of season. It's well worth getting Sagrada Familia tickets on line - we queued for an hour last week.
You can book here

For restaurants we used Lonely Planet recommendations and (as usual) weren't disappointed.

In particular El Glop, Sesamo and La Vinateria del Call0 -
Thank you, I will book up.0

Take a day trip to Montserrat. It's a monastery, which may sound boring, but it isn't. To start with it is 3000 feet up a mountain, and to get there you take a train from Barcelona out into the Catalonia countryside, and then ride in a cable car up the mountain. It is truly spectacular.0

Lucky you heading to Barcelona! I worked nearby for a couple of years and I absolutely love it there! If you can fit it in, a trip on the cable cars is lovely and very reasonable, giving you a great view of the city!
There is so many lovely things to see, just be careful with your belongings and have eyes everywhere, but other than that, enjoy!0 -

Having been to Barcelona a dozen times now I thought it was rubbish!
What about Parc Guel, all the Gaudi stuff, Las Ramblas, La Boquera market, Plaza de Catalunya, Gothic quarter, etc, etc. showed us next to !!!!!! all of Barcelona!0 -
Don't miss El Palau de la Musica, it's impressive and you can do a tour in english, there's one every hour from 9 to 15.
And book your tickets ahead for La Sagrada Familia, I was there on Monday and people in the queue at 10:30 in the morning were told they had to wait till 13:00 to get in. We booked our tickets a month ago.0
