No Hot Water

had a plumber round last week (who has now gone on holiday:rolleyes: ).

He was doind some sort of pressure test on my pipework before he recommends what new boiler i should ahve to replace my old back boiler.

I wasn't able to use the hot water overnight why he did the test.

Now i can't get any hot water at all. Boiler fires up OK, but get nothing hot from the system. Is there anything he may have forgot to turn back on??

(gravity fed system. Back boiler behind fireplace, Hot and cold storage tanks in loft, no emmersion)

Good morning: Are you getting no hot water from your taps at all or are you getting water but it is running cold? The only pressure I would test would be the incoming water main to see if it has sufficient pressure to support the operation of a combi...this would only take a few minutes...can only speculate that he was trying to pressurise your heating system to see if it would show up any problems eg. leaks.

Maybe he has isolated something and forgot to reinstate it.

my thinking, but im not sure what.

Im guessing that as im getting water (albeit cold) from the hot taps, that the stop-!!!! between cold tank and hot tank is on....other than that, not sure what to do

Does the central heating come on when hot water only is called for?

    Hi elite heat.

I've got a gravity system and part of the reason for me wanting to get a new system is that water is grvitating into the heating/rad's when heating is off, and only hot water is on.

all the rads are off at the moment and tbh i've not checked the pipes to them while this has been going on.

maybe i'll give that a try and report back

OK, nothing in the pipes going to the rads.

when i turn the water on, boiler fires up for about 2 mins, then nothing again....silly question, but is hot water on a thermosat somwhere??
