I'd sue them for the 40p.“Learn from the mistakes of others. You can never live long enough to make them all yourself.”

A 4% price increase how disgusting - those folks who run Aldi should be shot!
By the way I noticed a special offer on a brand name cereal in Aldi the other day WAS £1.75 NOW £1.74.
You could always buy 40 packs of Shreaded wheat and console yourself with the fact you managed to save 40p:T0 -
All this fuss over 40p. Maybe time to lay off the gin OP, it seems to be clouding your judgement!
now now, are you saying the shops can advertise goods at any price they like and sell at a higher price ? Aldi have sent me £20 in vouchers by way of apology, so I'm vindicated.:D:T:jDabbler in all things moneysaving.Master of none:o

The customer hasn't been overcharged. £10.39 was the price on the shelf and at the till which the OP accepted and paid for. There just happened to be some out of date leaflets on display advertising at the old price.
If you read the post again you will find that the manager was restocking the holders with the same leaflets, they are new every week as far as I can tell.:T:jDabbler in all things moneysaving.Master of none:o

I sometimes wonder why people post on money saving expert.
Whether that is 4p,40p or £4 why does it matter? OP was overcharged, got money back so it is a non-issue. Some people have to count the pennies and an error like this could cause someone issues.
There is no need to demand the money back though, just a query would suffice and get the refund sorted. A sour attitude is likely to increase hostility from staff and decrease your chance of getting a refund.0 -
Thanks Pawsies. I realise I made that post look a bit aggressive. I did merely query in the first instance, it was after I received a promise from regional office saying they would honour the price advertised in the leaflet then was refused in shop that I decided I should be more forceful. I haven't bought from Aldi since, that seems the best way to get my point across.:T:jDabbler in all things moneysaving.Master of none:o
