pip and other help

Hi I'm all new to this pip and quite confused to be honest and scared.....I've just been awarded enhanced care and low mobility and there was some information saying we could be entitled to extra help,I am on ESA in support group as well, what other help would I be entiltled to? I know I can apply for a blue badge, but would I need a medical for that as well I did get the 8pts in moving about would claiming other benefits make us worse off? Thank you for your help

The new award will only increase any benefits you may have gotten, or make you entitled to more.
As I understand it, yes, BB will not be automatic with 'just' standard mobility.

    Are you single?
If so, you may be entitled to additional ESA based on your DLA award.

Oh the way I read it I thought it was automatic on standard mobility as long as you scored 8pts on the moving bit? Ive phones ESA up today and I may be entitled to something caint remember what it was but sending forms out I'm still in a daze as to what I was awarded... I'm married no children, thanks for your reply

aremyou talking about the severe disability premium?
you only get that if you live alone ( or with another disabled person who also gets disability benefit) and no one claims carers allowance for looking after you

    [Blue Badge for parking

In England if you receive PIP enhanced rate mobility or DLA higher rate mobility you will automatically be entitled to a Blue Badge from your local authority.

If you score eight points or more in the ‘Moving Around’ activity in the PIP assessment you will also be automatically entitled to a Blue Badge. A score of eight points is awarded to a person who cannot walk further than approximately 50 metres.

For more information, see the Gov.UK information on Personal Independence Payment and eligibility for a Blue Badge (link opens in a new window).B]

Has the criteria for a Blue Badge softened? I thought only the Enhanced Mobility awardees got one automatically. The rest have to apply direct to the LA.
If you can get one with Standard Rate, why are some councils insisting that they have to more or less match the Enhanced descriptors with applications they are receiving ie not able to move more than 20 metres?

i too read it that as long as the 8 points were awarded for the 'moving around' part of the mobility arawd ( as opposed to the ' planning and following journeys' part) then you will automatically receive a blue badge when you apply

i would score no points at all for moving around, but will score the full 12 for the planning and following part

But only if you own a car and it is registered to you in the first place.
