2 adults + 1 toddler here, not many visitors, daily showers and occasional baths => £20/month metered

    2adults +baby care.

Just had our bill for the year £250, it does make you think about not wasting water.
I save £500 a year being on the water meter.
But I have 2water butts around the house & I rely on this water for all outside water usage , cleaning family cars +our two vehicles , large patio area , over 300 sqmtrs to clean, and I never use tap water, you will see me using it when it's raining continuous, one of the butts is a large whiskey barrel, I use the karcher by linking it to the butts.
And I must admit family bring cars for good old dad to wash, probably on avg 4 car washes a week.
Must say that my garden does not get watered , the shrubs &trees survive.

Mine is in with the stopcock under the pavement. I had a meter imposed as a new direct supply was put in (previously the supply was shared with a neighbour and had a T in his garden.)

First I knew about this was when the water board wrote to me to tell me they were reducing my direct debit!

Now paying £15/month rather than £62. One adult, no kids.

unless you have a big family or are very wasteful you'll save a lot on a meter

They couldn't fit a meter to my flat (ground floor of a very old house), so I got a much cheaper rate. Can't remember, but somewhere close to half of the old rate.

Doubt I use much water, but handy if I ever try to sort out a quite large garden.

Never, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.
