Morning everyone!
I am getting made redundant after 12 years in my job so I'm very excited that, provided I get a new job, I'll be well on track for mortgage overpayments!Mortgage balance Feb 2015 start of MFW Journey-£245316.06/Aim to be mortgage neutral 2022 — Target for May 2024 14 Year Target Balance MF50 = £89,535 — Mortgage Balance £106, 000—Target for May 2024! £89,535

Excellent attitude! Good luck
I've just got a promotion but it's not much more money so I'm not overly excited about that!

Hello everyone!
I would love to join this challenge!
Our original mortgage term would put us at repaying the mortgage in 2048  but we're now aiming for a 10 year (rather than 31 year) plan so aiming to be MF by 2027. It's going to be tough, but excited to be on the journey.
Other goals - pay off the mortgage by the same time OH's child maintenance payments drop (when his eldest hits 18) so we can have more freedom to choose what we want to do in life, rather than having to face the daily grind of the rat race, spending all of our money, and therefore ensuring this doesn't have to be our future for the next THIRTY years.
If we can hit the goal, then I should be MF by 44, rather 65..... which would be HUGE!
Wishing everyone luck on their missions to mortgage freedom!!0 -
Whoop! Have sold some furniture so have overpaid by £4400!
Also thinking of setting up a regular payment instead of ad hoc payments.
In other news, it looks like I'll be MF sooner than I thought; I'm going to sell up and buy a boat! We're currently tenants in common and the other tenant wants to buy me out with cash next summer. It's not quite enough capitol to buy a good home on my own, and I don't really want to be bogged down with a massive mortgage, I feel like I'm only just starting to live my life!
Time-scale is between May and September 2017, and will still need to overpay a bit for to keep the other tenant happy
It's definitely going to be an interesting time!

Wow Slicence - how exciting! And well done on making so much from your furniture. I doubt I'd make £1000 if I sold everything we own!
turtlemoose - how much longer until you're due to be a mum?
I have had to stop overpaying as I've gone over the 10% for this year! It's good timing as we're about to do some redecorating in the living room and we'll need every penny for that. OH has also moved jobs, which meant a paycut, and with me not working there's not much left each month.
I'm thinking by the time we've paid for all of the work to be done and Christmas we can then hopefully re-start in the new year with a new 10%.Mortgage (Start Sep 2014)- £70,295/£0 - 100%
Overpayments - £48829.37 :j:j:j
