Well I've been well and truly derailed
I had a holiday overspend, started xmas shopping (budgeted for though), booked some expensive Christmas days out, birthdays I had forgotten about , new work clothes required and a friends birthday weekend costing a blummin fortune, it's all added up.
It's not a problem in terms of not having the money, it just means that the money I had earmarked to go to mortgage op's is being diverted for a couple of months.
So I am going to continue with my op's out of the account interest etc, my bigger ops will be deferred till Jan 16.
I'm not going to stress my self about it, I just need to make sure it starts bEfore I get used to the money, the whole point was its money I haven't technically ever seen as it Was always earmarked to cleared my 0% cc or paying off the car loan (now gone)
I don't think this will derail my mortgage free date, as well as op'ing I have a set amount going into savings so I will me mortgage neutral at the very least by my expected deadline (I think!!)
Congrats to the newlyweds, I wish you a lifetime of happiness and a short road to mortgage freedom0 -
Choc- don't worry about the derailment!!!! It happens to me more than most but just get back on track and keep chipping away at that mortgage!! Have a cheap few weeks to make up for it and then enjoy all the fun you've planned!Mortgage balance Feb 2015 start of MFW Journey-£245316.06/Aim to be mortgage neutral 2022 — Target for May 2024 14 Year Target Balance MF50 = £89,535 — Mortgage Balance £106, 000—Target for May 2024! £89,535

Thanks Firegirl.
Yep that's the intention, curb it back where possible, at the very least stick to budget.
It's a hit to savings rather than debt accrual, but still.... I want my savings chunking up where possible.
How goes it with you?.0
