  • And found another £33 on our Oyster cards. We rarely get to London these days and in an era of contact less payment it seems they aren't needed anymore. So deposits of £13 and unused credit of £20 winging its way back. We had four after forgetting to take them with us last time and it being significantly cheaper to buy new ones!!

    Happy days ;)

£33 duly paid over to the mortgage today after the refund hit.
Would like to admit it was a low spend day but my day was rudely interrupted by IT so I went to costa for lunch and coffee.
    'Twas nice though.

Went shopping for the hollibobs yesterday, as well as some new work clothes. Desperately needed!!!!

Tried to get to gym, but work got in the way (story of my 2015 unfortunately) so my bikini ready plans are being derailed ;)

I'm still on track, three months in and my target is £100 pcm = £300 saved! It's currently in 5% savings account so I consider that a win :)

I'm feeling a bit nervous about the predicted rise in rates, we're on a tracker. I'll be keeping a very close eye on the situation over the next few months!

We're edging ever closer to our 10% yearly overpayment limit, so once we hit it we can start saving and then hopefully have a big chunk of money ready for January. Got a little way to go yet though. :)

Hopefully will be on adoption leave starting October/November (assuming nothing goes wrong, which it probably will!) so will then have to get used to being poor again!

Not looking forward to rate rises and having to decide whether to use savings to pay mortgage or carry on and try to take the hit and absorb any rate rises with usual income. Its a good motivator to work out how much you save over the term by paying an extra £50/£100 on your mortgage. I almost imagine if I pay the extra in someone is handing me the extra cash.

Imagination can take you far lol:rotfl:

We have managed to get our business mortgage down below £20000 this week.

Our home mortgage is fixed rate until December. We can't change before then as we have a stupid amount to pay off we end it early. I am praying that base rates don't change before Decenber.

Morning. Made our first normal mortgage payment, and a top up overpayment of £120, as well as a further £250 savings ring-fenced for the mortgage, and £250 savings ring-fenced for a variety of things from replacing my bike if/when it gets stolen/broken beyond repair to skating related goods/activities (I'm a roller derby referee). The music-related ring-fenced savings pot has been reduced to £1, after I spent the weekend at a folk festival and bought a banjo...

Edit to add - make that £500 savings ring-fenced for mortgage. OH and I have separate savings accounts, but same mortgage :P
