Woolacombe?

Hi everyone,

Going to Woolacombe in April (7th) for a week and I am looking for things to do there with 2 kiddies (ages 3 and 7)

The tourist information website isn't that great sadly :(

Any suggestions/hidden treasures?

Thanks!
Alana

I presume you have a place to stay?

(I'm hoping its isn't the Golden Coast resorts!)

Quince Honey Farm is great - well worth an afternoon visit.

It is one of the Golden Coast places - a Sun holiday. Why is it terrible now???

We went a few years ago to one of them and it was lovely.

I did look on DOWTK but wasn't sure about a few places and some we weren't able to go to (horse riding centre for example, DD2 is too young)

Combe Martin wildlife park is a fairly short drive away and good for all ages.
There's also an indoor roller skating rink fairy nearby that opened recently which might be good if the weathers bad.

The one thing to be aware of when thinking of booking a Woolacombe Bay Holiday through the Sun is they have a strict no dogs policy when booking through newspaper promotions(unless guide dogs etc)

when we went to Woolacombe we went to a sheepdog and bird of prey display....it turned out to be Mist from the channel 5 kids programme (not sure if it's still on?) really good display and the kids loved it. This was a few years ago now so not sure if it's still on and we only saw it advertised at the side of the road in the field where it was held.

It is still on, it's held regularly throughout the summer though I'm not sure of the days

Everywhere you go in Devon (including supermarkets) will have leaflets about things to do, you can get money off vouchers as well

Big Sheep is good, I know lots of people who've taken Grandkids and they have raved about it.

Very close to The Big Sheep is Atlantic Village. It is a shopping outlet (if you get any time on your own;)) with an Adventure Park which I understand has loads of stuff for kids. Added bonus there is an Asda with a cafe for cheap eats/shopping.

Whatever you do, have a great time and hope the weather is good

    sorry for the delay!

I went there 7 yrs ago. Vowed never to go back. It was disgusting. utterly. Caravans were crap, dirty, unwashed linen on the beds when we arrived. I left after 3 nights as the girls were vomiting. They even remember it as the holiday with the dirty caravan.

I didn't read trip advisor before going. BIG mistake.
