i traveled from leeds to manchester
recentetly with first trans-pennine
express trains. i trave;led in normal
class and had a reserved seat. when
i got on the train i saat down in the
seat and herd a tear. i checked my
trousers and the seat had made a
large tear in my pocked where i
had sat down because the armrest
had been left in the down position
meaning it caught my pcocketed as
i sat down. what rights do i have
as i feel the armrest should have
ben put in the upright position so as
to not cause damage by the guard.

Oh I don't envy you hearing your replies on here .0 -
Up to you to have checked before you sat down I'm afraid. Do you really expect staff to have time to check and lift the arms every 2 minutes?0
-
Ask them to provide you
with a pair of armrest -proof

You have the right to look where you are sitting and take some responsibility for yourself.0

Let's see who is daft enough to reply to the obvious troll.0

So, it was the guard that caused the damage
I hope that you suitably chastised him at the time.
I suggest that you start World War III with him on Facebook - or at the very least challenge him to a duel. I volunteer to be your 'second'.0 -
