[STRIKE]Spend [/STRIKE] Spent today first 10 minutes on Online Chat, [STRIKE]than[/STRIKE] then 15 minutes on the phone trying to find out their BIC and my account IBAN.

The chat agent gave me the BIC, but both the chat and the phone agents kept saying that the IBAN had to be on my paper statement. I am not blind, but I couldn't find it for the life of me.

Neither could I find it online, either on the website or in my online account.

Eventually the phone agent had to contact "my branch" to get one:

GB08YORK******########.

I refuse to believe that GB08YORK part is branch-specific.

What's wrong with this bank? It's the 21 century FGS!

    Spent, NOT Spend
    .then, NOT than

Sorry, couldn't resist. And no, I don't know where to find the YB BIC/IBAN but I am sure someone else will be along soon with an answer.

Yes, they are terrible. I've just been searching for this on my account which I've now had for, oh, 33 days!

Tried to delve into the account a bit, and as always the website froze and needed to be recovered thus logging me out. Now this may well be my brand-new laptop, but it doesn't happen with any of my other accounts.

As for searching for the information you mention, that's just put me off retaining the account with them. I think I may open another Halifax account for a permanent £60 per year, even though I won't qualify for another incentive. I've just checked my Halifax account, and although the actual BIC and IBAN are not visible, it's very clear where to press to get this information. It's a good, clear website.

Roll-on my three £150s, I'll move them all. Had Yorkshire been super, I might have stayed with them for at least one of the 3 accounts.

The IBAN is individual to each account, that's why banks quote it on statements. Perhaps YB don't expect their account holders to send/receive overseas payments. Odd because most bank systems will generate the IBAN automatically as part of the opening process and it's easy enough to get it printed on statements.

Doesn't bode well for your future banking requirements, sad to say.

AFAIK, normally only ******######## part is, where ****** is the sort code and ######## is the account number.

Surprisingly they expect you to make payments: Overseas money management

The BIC and IBAN are on the right handside of each of my Clydesdale statements.
    The Yorkshire ones appear identical.

The BIC is usually the same for the whole bank.

    Thanks, but...
Unfortunately, we don't know what BIC is correct for this bank. But you can still calculate the IBAN if you look up the BIC/the SWIFT Code yourself (for instance, here)
The BIC does help if you know it as " (for instance, here)" fails to find it.

For the reference, BIC is YORKGB22

Just to prove that I am not blind:

The only essential difference I see is that my statement is "Current Account Direct statement".
