Best Value??

Options
Hi all,

It's daft, have been a member of these boards for ages, it's only now I am starting to utilise it fully

Am looking for ways to cut my monthly expenditure, just wanted some advise.. I currently have Sky (normal package + movies) @ £34 per month; Broadband is through BT (4MB) @ 17.99 per month, Phone through Talk Talk @ between £25 and £35 per month..

Have seen loads of adverts for various companies package deals and wondered who is recommended as best for all round value?

We need reliability and speed on the internet connection (so would prefer min of 4MB), downloads not that important..

Any advice much appreciated,

Sarah xx

  • You can get your phone for free with Sky (same package prob)

And you can get your broadband with sky for £5 a month (8mb and 40gb cap) or £10 a month (16mb max and no cap.)

This would reduce your cost by about £45 :)

Hi I have the same sort of package as jovichick123. sky + sport at 34 and everything else through BT 30 - 40 pound a month .
Can i just cancel broadband through Bt and just pay BT line rental does anyone know if you are tied to the contract for your talk plan through BT(option1) or can i just change all to sky now, its confusing because everything was done with BT over the phone and i have only the verbal contract and no written one
    Thanks

  • If you are in term with BT you will not be able to cancel without paying up the remainder of the term. You will have to still keep your line (Together Option1) with BT as Sky are not a line provider at the moment.
As for a verbal agreement, a verbal agreement is no different to a signed agreement. A verbal agreement is a DSD (Distant Selling Directive)

I have changed today from TalkTalk Broadband to Virgin Media after a whole year of stress and frustration. I have had to use libraries and internet cafes as despite dozens of phone calls to call centres in India and SOuth Africa and time-consuming trouble shooting sessions the connection never materialised. Letters have not been answered, it is almost impossible to get through to the Head office in England, let alone anyone in authority. Is there an ombudsman for broadband?

My Virgin media cable broadband, cable telephone line and unlimited anytime UK calls is costing me £20 per month and was set up in minutes. So far, all is going well. I would advise anyone thinking of switching to TalkTalk to do their research and find out if new customers are getting better service than I did!
