If there was compulsory training for cyclists, would that put you off cycling?

I'm happy to critisise and accept others critisism of cyclists who are at fault.
You are just happy to critise cyclists.

I have said many times, I am only critical of irresponsible cyclists. Which bit of that do you not understand?

As you also said, "there is no point in arguing with a closed mind".

I apologise for not ranting on in a pro-cyclist or anti-cyclist way - I understand that the normal way of posting on MSE is to get aggressive towards people who have a different point of view but I'm afraid I'm not in the mood to do that today. Sorry.
    Wise move.

Just to demonstrate that despite your beliefs, that cyclists are not totally the blameless group that you proportionate them to be. It appears (from this very example) that even the professional cyclist chooses at will to flout the law and put themselves in danger when it suits because they generally get away with it. Only when there is an actual incident do they become the attention of the police it seems.

As I said, it's a 'red mist'. It's not an appropriate attitude when driving or riding on the public road, but it's right in the territory of single minded determination to win a highly prized race at almost all costs.
I don't know what specific instructions there were to racers regarding the level crossing(s) but if you're in a closed road race, your mind is on the goal, you don't want to have to think too much, if at all with other road users.=Tilt;68177623]

You simply come back at me because you don't like the truth and woe betide anyone criticising cyclists in this forum.
I just wonder why you're here at all. What's the point of your involvement in the cycling forum other than to try to get a rise out of law abiding cyclists by tarring us all with the same brush, then denying it (as if you could)?
You're just fishing for confrontation. Everyone here understands that but you. It'd be nice if those specific people you reckon you're so desperate to criticise were here to respond to you. But they're not. You just get off on trying to make the cyclists here your intended target.

But then again... you still don't get it. I only criticise the irresponsible ones who deserve criticism.

Let's see how long this new leaf lasts... :coffee::)
Make everything as simple as possible, but not simpler.
  • You keep protesting this, yet the evidence seems to suggest otherwise.

What was the purpose of posting the video you did, if not to, again, illustrate that cyclists (even professional ones) fit into your perceived stereotype?
People don’t just invent stereotypes, they emerge out of peoples’ real-life experiences. Cyclists don’t like non-cyclists invading their space, but the truth is that, in the UK, cyclists quite often refuse to use the space which is provided for them at council-tax-payers’ expense. On MSE, cyclists (and public transport) have been awarded their own forum, but I think it would be more appropriate to create a forum called ‘Commuting by Road’.

Touring cyclists, racing cyclists and family cyclists are in a completely different kettle of fish.

Really? I suggest you do a little research. Here's one to get you started, black men's penis size :rotfl:
  • Your real life experience is clearly broader than mine...

Probable not really, it was just an example of a stereotype which was completely made up, supposedly to degrade and belittle black men.

You're not a cyclist. Why do you keep returning to a board used almost entirely by cyclists and provoking arguments?. Isn't that what trolls do?.
