flea treatment for dogs

i have always used frontline spot on to treat my dog for fleas. but just recentley it doesn't seem to last as long or be as effective.
has anyone else found this and what does everyone else use?

Advocate. My vet said the fleas seem to have become resistant to whatever the active ingredient is in frontline and they've had alot more cases of fleas this year.0

I used this for most of my dog's life but due to her health nowadays it's too risky to use a systemic product so would be interested in any alternatives.Advocate. Advocate inlate summer as it also helps with harvest mites

Have you tried diatomaceous earth? Completely natural yet effective against fleas and other parasites. Make sure you use food grade though.0 -

I use diatomaceous earth all year round internally (as a wormer) & externally as a flea/mite preventative.
My Dog had a bad reaction to Frontline 9 years ago & has a damaged immune system as a result

I've started using this as one of my dogs is 14 now and seems to react badly to chemicals. Too soon to say if it works though
