Thanks for that.
So taking measures against the private parking fraudsters is indeed the purpose of the change. Although as you pointed out the other day, the election will throw a spanner in the works.Je suis Charlie.0 -
I was hoping this was the reason for the change from the DfT to his department
let us hope that this takes place and shame it didnt happen much sooner , like 2.5 years ago when POFA 2012 came in0 -
Whilst I'm not a great fan of Eric Pickles you can say he is endowed with good political instincts and when most government ministers are content just tow the line his instincts are refreshingly clear.
However he will need to be on his best form to take on this shadowy underworld involved in the private parking industry. If you thought that those involved in investment banking and currency trading were in a murky world, then PPC's are in a thick fog of deceit, untruths and corrupt practices.
I never would have thought that even licensed solicitors would be involved in such corrupt practices but like auditing accountants will tell you 'where there is money involved some people will always find a fiddle'.REVENGE IS A DISH BETTER SERVED COLD0 -
Maybe all this comes as a result of the official probe launched last summer:-

Are you serious comparing JAS, ANPR Lld, and Norfolk with the likes of HSBC, Lehman Bros, and Northern Rock?
I think that Mr Pickles is more than a match for this little lot.You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -
unlike the likes of HSBC, Lehman Bros, and Northern Rock
JAS, ANPR Lld, and Norfolk will morf overnight , and reappear next week with a different name..
most of the PPCs already have a spare name registered , often running as a small scale setup and liked by dvla etc ,0 -
And don't forget that PE are owned by HM Government's favourite outsourcing company Crapita. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0

who have a 8% stake in parking eye (or did)
see my post above
parking eye startup
They secured a £100,000 grant from the North-West Regional Development Agency (a now disbanded New Labour quango, which took an 8 per cent stake in return),

And whatever restrictions and regulations Pickles introduces will still apply to them, so what would be the point?
If Pickles has the power to lean on the corrupt DfT and DVLA then he has the ultimate sanction of cutting off or restricting the supply of keeper details. That's a big "if" though, because the DfT/DVLA will doubtless fight him hard on behalf of their parking "industry" paymasters.Je suis Charlie.0 -
