The new 528i is actually a 2.0 litre.

The 2010 one I was in last week was a 528i with a 3.0 lump.

    I think the new 328i and 428i are a 2.0 turbo 4 pot.
  • A 123d is such because it's a twin turbo, not a single like a 120d. New 525d is a 2.0l twin turbo 4 cyl. Same with the 4.0l that are actually 3 litre engines with a turbo (petrol) or 2 turbos (diesel), then you have an M50d witch is a 3 litre engine with 3 turbos. The list goes on .

Best not to assume the badge is engine size but equivalent engine output to keep it simple.
