Hi guys,

Last month I purchased some curtains using the website nCrowd (previously known as KGB Deals), the voucher codes received I redeemed on another website called https://www.groundlevel.co.uk

This is where the drama begins... note I will try to condense this a bit (as it is quite long).

The two voucher codes I purchased do not allow you to use these within a single order (or even the same account). Therefore to use them both I had to basically create two customer accounts - very annoying especially as they are forcing customers to pay each time for shipping costs. So essentially forcing me to pay £9.98 for two orders even though they are shipping a single order (its £4.99 per order) note both orders were ordered on the same day less than 40 minutes apart.

After two weeks period of time of not receiving the goods, I rang them up to query what was going on - they kept telling me the items had got lost at the MyHermes depot. When I rang another day they told me they had dispatched the goods and they were on their way. I then asked why I was being told conflicting information and can I be provided with the tracking number.

I only managed to get the tracking link by ringing up multiple times, each time I was told we will contact you back and provide the tracking link. Nobody provided this - only on the third call of that particular day did I get this by stating I want this right now over the phone as I was being constantly ignored.

On each occasion the company have tried to fob me off with responses, blaming the courier MyHermes in the process. The last time I spoke to the woman on the phone she was extremely rude and basically told me to get lost and get back to work as I was taking up her time. I told her I had sent emails, to which she replied "yes we know, you keep pestering us - we don't have time to respond immediately to you we are a massive company and cannot respond right away" - so in essence I am being told to a) stop emailing the company and b) if you call we will fob you off just to get you off the phone.

Eventually I got sicked and tired of waiting and chasing them up I decided to cancel my order - they told me as it had been dispatched they couldn't refund my two delivery fees (even though they stated it was actually sent as one single order - bit odd that).

I contacted nCrowd who have without issue provided me with a refund of the £34 voucher for the goods, although as the delivery charge was paid for on the sellers website that this additional £9.98 will have to refunded by groundlevel.co.uk themselves - which they refuse to do.

A month later I have checked this MyHermes tracking link and it states a) it has been delivered this thursday and b) it was signed for by the customer.

I have NOT received any goods or signed for anything - I have spoken to my neighbours who also haven't received anything (I told them beforehand to not accept anything as I did want the goods especially with how I was spoken to on the phone).

I have contacted MyHermes and they have said due to 'contractual reasons' they cannot provide any assistance even though they claim to have dispatched the goods. I have asked them to provide the name, address & the signature of the person of they claim has accepted the delivery of the goods but I get the same 'due to contractual reasons we cannot help, please contact the seller direct).

You can see the issue with this, the seller has previously told me that once they dispatched the goods it is no longer within their possession and cannot help as MyHermes have the items at their depot.

Both MyHermes & the seller are passing me to each other but neither actually want to assist - can I force either company to provide me with the signature of the person who collected these goods as currently this seems like a blatant fraud.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated on the matter - if anything is unclear just ask, the whole saga has really peed me off and my head is spinning with anger of the incompetence of both of these companies.

Note to everyone... STAY AWAY FROM VOUCHER SITES!

P.S If this isn't in the right category can a mod move it to a category better suited - thanks again

  • The company has possibly sent a request for Hermes to return to sender and that is what the tracking is reflecting.

I'm not sure but this may also be why Hermes will not give out any information about who signed for it.
