Im waiting on a dip with nw since yesterday went to refer as they picked up a notice of correction i put on about a loan we had back in 2010 we had one late payment due to suspected fraud and it blocked everything coming out. They told mortgage broker it would be 8 hrs but its over 24 now and what i have been reading looks like were in for a long wait. Were first on the list to reserve this house so very anxious. They done a soft search and hard search yest

Do yourself a favour and remove the NOC. Any NOC will cause automatic referral. For one late payment 5 years ago it is doing more harm than good

We had an agreement in principle with santander with a scheme we were going for and it approved straight away do lenders do things different
  • Well our DIP went through no problems again over the phone, phew! No extra documents needed.

We are hoping the full application goes through hassle free at our appointment next Thursday the same as last time too.

I have to give a bit of a reprieve to our Mortgage contact at Nationwide, Alex. He has gone out to the underwriters to double check the bankruptcy of my partner from 2008 and got it in writing that everything is fine and not a problem (it is over 6 years ago so he thought it would be fine as the question they ask is "have either of you been declared bankrupt in the last 6 years" but wanted to check to be on the safe side). He has also gone to head office to get a special approval that the deposit we took from our original save to buy isa with nationwide and transferred to the solicitor for the first house we were due to buy (it fell through) doesn't now need to be transferred back to another save to buy nationwide isa in order to qualify for the special deal. Our solicitor has supplied a letter stating they are holding our deposit and that is all now in order. I am relieved as I didn't really want to open a new isa for a matter of a few weeks only to close it again!

Does anyone know who to complain to at Nationwide? I'm in my third 48 hour wait now for my formal offer. Applied on 26th Feb, valuation on 4th March, Valuation approval on 5th march. We've been back and forth over various requests for further documentation for things. Its like they get to the end of the 48 hour wait and then decide they want something else as well. Why can't they assess and ask for everything they need in one go? If I don't have an offer by the end of today, or if they ask for more info again I'm going to complain.

I was thinking of doing this too! As you know we are in the same boat, applied 26th Feb, Valuation 3rd March, text on Monday to say valuation fine, asked for more info on a few transactions yesterday morning and nothing since! Told it will be another 24 hours since last Wednesday when we were given the verbal offer :( so angry at the whole process can't seem to get any answers from my broker who is just checking the online application whilst I'm on the phone to her, considering calling them myself but I don't want to annoy the broke!

They make themselves seem like a disorganised bunch of jokers. Waiting 48 hours and then saying "oh.. we need this.." and then the same again after another 2 days, and then again!

How much better would it be if you could apply to several banks/building societies in one go all at the same time and go for the one who gives the best service and the best deal at the offer stage? As it is, you're totally at the mercy of one company who can do whatever they want and keep you hanging on indefinitely because you've no other options :(
