Hi all

I'm looking at purchasing an Audi A3 saloon.
Just wondering if anyone owns one and has any thoughts?

I prefer the saloon to the hatchback/sportback
I'm still not sure about petrol vs diesel
I'm still not sure about s-tronic vs manual
I'm still not sure about bank loan vs dealer finance vs workplace lease

As you can see there's a lot i'm not sure about!

Are you sure it's an A3 you really want?

In reality it's probably going to be the s-tronic 2.0 tdi. A guy at the dealer said the quattro probably isn't worth the extra

I ordered an Audi A3 Saloon last May...1.6 Auto with tonnes of extras etc, camera, panoramic roof, bose system, park assist, the works. It came in November(!!) and it was gorgeous...two days later it cut out at 70 MPH in middle lane of motorway, four breakdowns and less than 1000 miles covered in under 4 weeks and we rejected it (Company Car). I get my next one in JUNE - 13 months later!! Been an absolute nightmare!

I do think it is gorgeous though, and I hope I have better luck with the next one - and pity the poor person who will get mine - they are putting a wiring loom in it apparently still parked up at the dealers after 4 months.

christ it sounds like an absolute lemon!

What was actually wrong with it?

    Hows about a comfy armchair.

Copy of Autocar one side, mug of coffee on the other. Feet, firmly in slippers.

You could make "brrrm berrummMMM" noises whilst looking at adverts for Audi A3's . . . or masturbating over those pictures of naked ladies draped over motorcycles you'll never own !

    gross!

I actually need a car, so I just need to order one.

I had the A4 cabriolet previously and really enjoyed it, apart from a DPF filter problem it was a gorgeous car. I've moved house now with no driveway, so new car has to be a little smaller to fit in the gaps on the street!

I think the A3 looks bland and boring especially the rear, however it has become the new chav mobile of choice around here for some reason

The Audis do all look quite similar, I noted that when I was walking round the dealership car-park.

Not actually sure - now it has been rejected I doubt I ever will! Was scary though. I hope I dont get the lemon next time!
