Please recommend me some tyres.
Options
Existing rear pair on wife's Peugeot 107 have deteriorated quite badly, so after doing a fair bit of research online, I ordered & paid for a pair of Uniroyal Rain Expert 155/65/14 via ATS website - Came in at £50 each fully fitted.
Unfortunately my local ATS branch called me today and apologised as they cannot get any for at least 3 weeks..
Need them sooner than that as travelling up Mway in about 2 weeks time.
So appreciate any advice on good alternatives at similar price range.
Thank you

It's a Peugeot 107 m8.
What specialised aspect of any particular tyre do you require?
<hint> They need to be round and preferably cheap !0 -
Get your money back, look on Tyreleader, Uniroyal Rain Expert 3, the new model of RE @ £28.09 each free delivery, order now they'll be with you in 3 to 5 working days, get local fitter to bung 'em on @ tenner apiece.
They've got the now old model RE also @ £35.39 each.0 -
Even if its only a Pug 107, I don't want to scrimp on one of the most important safety aspects.
I'm not looking at premium brands, but I don't want basic stuff either.
The reviews I read on the Uniroyals indicated they made a big difference especially in the wet.0 -
Quite right, Uniroyals have always been good in the wet, one of ours is on the new Rainsport 3, you can't budge them in the wet.0

I have hankooks at the minute, they were cheap at the time if I remember. Continentals were lovely but more expensive0

I look for tyres with a good WET STOPPING rating. The best I could get was B rating with some Kumho KH 17 tyres, that was over a year ago and they seem to have lasted well. Unfortunately the ratings differ wildly depending on which exact size you go for, so my recommendation isn't good if they are rated E for your size.
Avon ZT-5s weren't bad eitherChanging the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.0 -
I don't understand, my logic chip has just melted.
It's a Pug 107 that your missus drives FGS.
What? Is she the 'Star In A Reasonably Price Car'?
Perhaps she's struggling to get to Q2 in Australia !
Is it black? Is it round? Can you afford it?
Maybe she came home yesterday and spurted off how the understeer is affecting her handbrake parks in Tesco's?
"Darling, I'm shifting down from 4th to 3rd, heel and toe to get the balance you know, and the beastly things are squealing like Banshee's on heat".
It's a Pug 107 FGS.
You'd need to go into the darkest depths of the deep dark places where dodgy tyres are sold to find anything that even the dodgiest of dodgy tyre sellers would sell, to even come within a fraction of anything that tested the performance of a Pug 107.
You could sellotape a rolled up newspaper to the bare rim and no one would know the difference !0 -
Mate if you havn't got anything useful to contribute just do one
Comprende ?0 -
Avon ZV3.
Dunlop Blue Response.
Hankook K425
Michelin Energy or newer Energy +
All good tyres and well priced.
Kumhos are good tyres aswell.
I had good wear and performance from Nankang NS2s not sure if available in that size but Nankang are a decent budget buy.
Uniroyals are indeed decent as are Vredesteins.0 -
I use Khumo, KU39's grip well, But i dont know how they compare to the Uniroyals. Not a tyre brand i have ever fitted to any of my cars.
Michelins in the rear of my FWD cars seem to last forever though.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
