Hi all, I've been reading this thread with interest and thought I'd join in. My aims are:

    1. Get referral coursework finished and handed in before 20th, this will mean I can concentrate on money matters again.
    2. Get stuck into doing daily clicks as often as possible.
    3. Make sure my holiday at the end of the month is as cheap but enjoyable as possible!
    4. Spend as little as possible on food, and use as much storecupboard stuff up as possible.
    5. Once coursework is handed in, do my mass ebay flog to get rid of the clutter in the house & increase my new car fund!

Good luck with your goals everyone! :T
  • Can I join in? August is a pretty heavy month with car tax, and I can only afford 6 months at the mo, plus emergency healthcare costs that I have had to pay for. My main aims are:

    - Keep my eye on the ball and stick to my overdraft plan. If all goes well it won't exceed -£350 by September payday.
    - Several birthdays coming up but need to keep these as low as possible - most already have the presents planned so shouldn't be too bad.
    - Not touch my CC (cleared the final dregs of the balance today after a slight lapse)
    MFW :)
    [STRIKE]Mortgage 8.2.15 - [/STRIKE][STRIKE]£171,064.64[/STRIKE] Mortgage 1.5.2018 - £99,980.45
    Aiming to be MF 1.10.2020

    Hi all,

    update:

Barclays paid me my bank charges back today!!! All gone on my credit card to pay that blasted thing off.... kinda wish I could have put it towards buying a house or a new wardrobe, but I'm not too fussed, I'm treating it as numbers and not cash!!!

    yay!

    Aims for August:

~ Severely tighten the purse strings to avoid dipping into overdraft - we have just about enough money if we don't do any unnecessary spending...
~ Meal plan and use up store cupboard/freezer items to reduce food bill.;)
~ Try and start baby steps towards flylady to get on top of housework (and keep it that way!:p).
~ Clear out spare bedroom. New windows being fitted next month and we currently use it as a "dumping ground" - the builders are going to have to get in there at some point, so it needs clearing...:o
~ Keep doing piggyclicks for JL vouchers for Christmas.:D

i get paid this friday the 10th, so my aims for the next 4 weeks are:
clear the £70 balance on my rbs credit card - not much i know but im getting into the habit of clearing it every month plus i will be using at the end of the month to pay my share of the holiday
put at least £100 into my holiday fund (might be tricky as road tax and mot to pay for and im soo unorganised to have budgeted for it)
pay a bit more than min payment to my 2 other cc's (both on 0%)
apart from clothes i have got everything i need for my holiday apart from suntan lotion but me and my mate are going halves on that
overall try to spend as little as possible for the next 4 weeks

I've got my total in my signature now to remind me to keep ontop of this challenge. Today I listed a pair of newrock biker boots for sale at a shockingly low price, I just need rid and some cash paid towards this bill!! I've joined another selling site and am still digging out more bits and bobs for sale on ebay from charity shops and around the house.

If theese boots sell, I'll be just under one 6th of my way to the total!. Grrr, got my fighting spirit hat on now :p
Debt free since 2014 - now saving for a mortgage deposit :heart2:
This time I'm on top of it! We live and learn :coffee:

This is a great thread :money:

I'm currently working out a presents budget and trying to convince OH that we need to put money away for presents now and that if we wait until December we won't manage (as luck would have it my birthdays early november and his is early december, combined with a parents' birthday in december too it's an expensive time of year).

In addition in august I'm doing the grocery challenge for the first time and keeping a spending diary (and helping OH keep one too).

We're at a point were we could very easily apply for a credit card/loan to cover extra expenses and spiral into debt and I'm determined not to get into that situation - I've read enough stories on here to know that spending time sorting it out and maybe seeming a bit OTT now will help.

I'm also going to try and add £180 to my Olympic Challenge by the end of the month.

    Good luck everyone :T
