Flight altered in advance by airline

I am due to be flying into Barcelona on a Spanish airline in late April to board an onward flight to Gatwick an hour later on the same airline.

This airline has just e-mailed me to say they have changed my onward flight to a different one that leaves over 11 hours later.

Can I claim compensation for the extra 10 hours delay and the cost of re-booking onward travel from Gatwick, which has already been paid for ?

Thank you in advance for any advice given.

compensation applies when you have been given under 14 days notice
You should be able to either get a refund on the flight you have booked or see if there is a better connection and asked to be moved to that one instead
Onward travel from the airport / consequential losses are not covered by the airline (even if <14 days notice) and you should speak to your travel insurance about this
