Hi all,
I currently have Virgin media on a contract (that I think is up) and i'm paying £35 per month. I get land-line, TV and internet for that.
Problem is I don't watch the TV. I don't use the land-line. I only use the internet. I watch youtube, Netflix and the iplayer. So i need a decent download speed.
I also don't have a BT line, only a Virgin media one. I wish to reduce my bills and get this cost reduced, but as I dont have a BT line i'm finding it difficult as I will have to pay an up front cost to put one in.
Can anyone recommend a package that will be cheaper, be Internet or phone only where I don't need a BT line.
Thanks

Also, go to BT, i think they can install phone line for free.

BT Line rental about £17 pm .
Unlimited 17 MB broadband £13 per month .
Suggest you tell VM you want to leave and see what they offer you .0 -
Because of line rental you're not going to save a huge amount of money.
Co-Op aren't too bad - http://www.thephone.coop/home/phone-broadband/#/price_comparison
I'm afraid a 4G MiFi isn't an option as while they can be very fast (I got 95Mbs down once on EE beside a mast) it's about £20 a month for 4GB and that won't last you long with Netflix.0 -
You can get a BT line installed or reconnected from zero to £130, all depends what package you take and what deal you negotiate, so don't let that limit you to Hobson's choice. There are no other cable providers. No free lunch, and no free laptop0

First find out what landline broadband speed you are likely to get using:

If you can get better than 4Mbps, then check out cashback deals on Quidco and Topcashback. I prefer cash, as opposed to vouchers.
Check that installation is included. Even so, there is typically a setup charge of around £30.0 -

EE £20 a month for 4GB? Don't you mean £20 a month for 15GB.
It's still too little data for the likes of Netflix, agree.0
