Ah yes - decision paralysis! I decided to open a s&s isa months before I could being myself to actually press the button to do so - dithering about which fund/s to go with

Well I have just read your entire diary over the last few weeks. What a journey, cannot believe dd is now 4. I kept wanting to shout to your future self not to worry about mortgage rates as they remain low, and I could have saved you some anxiety 😄
seriously, well done, you are an inspiration so keep up the good work.8 -
Ah, yes pensions, where were you when I needed virtual help. lol. In the midst of it all, was all a bit late for me, and would be lying if I said I understood it all. Doesn't help when workplace has about 3 different versions, however the one I was "stuck" and still a bit "stuck" was a wee one. "Stuck" meaning they have not yet paid out.I have been freaking out over the last 6 weeks or so, lost value, then up, like a yoyo, all through no fault of my own, head hitting a brick wall.Fantastic weather up here, and had reduced my hours to get away to the caravan during the week. Ha, if only.which brings me if you don't mind me asking, as I know you have a caravan as well, and pitch fees are not exactly cheap, you could say, was wondering how other parks are/if giving owners a rebate/reduced fees since we can't get using it.Might be a bit of a cheek, but just wondering.Enjoy the weather and your half day off.Always have 00.00 at the end of your mortgage and one day it will all be 0's :dance:MF[STRIKE] March 2030[/STRIKE] Yes that does say 2030  Mortgage Free 21.12.18 _party_Now a Part Timer from 27.10.194

As for the mortgage rates there was always a motivation to get our balance, and so financial obligations to a more manageable level. I may never have posted as such but I was quite conscious of how Mrs SJ would be able to understand/manage/juggle our financial situation if the unthinkable happened and she had to take control. I wrestle with the thought now of how much extra I could have had invested or in my pension, but on reflection I'm much happier with a mortgage balance below £100k and we still have time to play with. Added to that Mrs SJ has a great pension scheme will allowed a focus eleswhere for a bit, and then to take a touch more risk on my side.
58 is target for me to have enough to retire, with house paid and 2 of the kids fully through Uni! I do keep winding Mrs SJ up that she will have to crack on another 3 years to me because of the age difference which she's not amused by...!MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......7 -
3 posts in less than half an hour...!
Finished the very last bit of fence painting today. 2 hrs worth of front of the fence that is behind all our bushes. Very fiddly as I have to stand in the middle of bushes, pull some shrubs out of the way to get behind them, reach over others to the tops...so in the end I always end up with my arms scratched and then my allergies to anything green kicks off and my arms look like they have measles!
Couple of leisurely dog walks, a spot of hoovering and what feels like a day long battle with a trying 4yr old!
£5.09 TT pot was OP'd this morning so some mortgage headway at least.
Stay safe!MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......8
