I love that this update is a new page of your diary. I love that it was made at 09.00 (I live things neat and rounded off). However, I would have emptied a child's piggy bank or my parking meter purse, or tipped the sofa upside down to round up another £4.66 had I been you. Having said that, none of my figures are round at the moment.
I hope you enjoyed the party... footy tonight?Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)
OS Grocery Challenge in 2025 I am at £1286.68/£3000 or 42.89% of my annual spend so far

I did consider rounding up to £500 but once i start rounding, where does it end...I can't possibly get everything to a round figure!
Party was good. A few pints, and not enough to have a sore head! A bit if buffet, but not too much that I had to loosen my belt! Kids had a great time and we were home and in bed before midnight!
Had DS2 at football match this morning and am now drying off before heading out with pooch. I have a few hours of work this afternoon but home in time for 2nd dog walk before kick off. DS2 has his Liverpool kit on ready and DS1 has his Liverpool polo shirt. Pizza and beer at the ready.MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......0 -

Loving the monthly update SJ.
I think you are spot on in focussing your efforts towards the pension now. I know it isn't as satisfying as seeing the mortgage number going down, and retirement seems a long way off but your future self will thank you.
It honestly seems no time at all since we had children the same age as yours and retirement felt like years away...and suddenly blink and the kids are all grown up and we are getting ready to finish work and move into the next phase of our life.0 -
Good result for your household then! (Ours was last week and similarly celebrated, on my own as DH is away, but texting my cousin, who used to go to some of the matches with my Dad and me)Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

Great work for just over 50 months, SJ!
The retirement funding feels less of an accomplishment to me compared to wiping out debt, especially in months when the stock market goes haywire. Future You will thank you, though (and in months when the stock market cooperates it is a great feeling to see all the "free" money).0 -

It was indeed a good household. DS2 insisted in going to bed in his kit, and then he swapped his duvet for his Liverpool blanket. On Sunday morning he was straight into he Liverpool away kit for the day, much to Grandad's annoyance as a Man Utd fan!MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......0
