That's great, Jimmy :) I love it when tweaks like that work so well. It's got to be good to have less alcohol around too. Kudos to your wife for getting out on the bike first thing, and good luck with the MOT.

Good to hear re. MOT. :)

I used to drink every single night. Before joining the cutting down alcohol thread on MSE I could not imagine what it would be like to eat my evening meal without wine to accompany it. The drinking carried on after dinner every single night too. These days I only tend to have a drink a couple of times per month. Feel a lot better for it, too. :)

Alex - it can really creep up on you as well the whole drinking in the house. Fortunately its never been something that i've gotten into.

£1 TT this morning. 1 week to payday and our money has pretty much run out. We have £26 left and i need £20 of that for golf tomorrow, however both cars are sorted for petrol and we just need a food shop. Thankfully child benefit (all budgeted for of course) will come early next week. Its just a pain that the day changes every month.

Other than that life is all good! The sun in shining and i have a full day off work...happy days!

Can't believe yesterday i commented on someones diary about a parking tickets de railing them slightly, and the Mrs SJ comes home with a £50 one grrr! This wasn't an appointment running over 5 mins. She parked in a town centre car park for the full day and didn't think she'd have to pay for parking as she was getting a train ?!?!?!?

Anyway i made a £1 TT this morning, so that pot is going well. And after last months food shop technique we're starting today with a schedule of food shopping once every 2 weeks. Hoping to spend no more than £100 (not counting milk top up on week 2). I suppose the first saving will have to go to parking ticket though.

The sun is shining, i've dusted off my golf clubs for the first time since Apr 2016, so today should be a good day. Not expecting to play well, and i've made a wise decision to wear long pants rather than shorts as i expect to spending lots of time looking in the long grass and brambles for my ball! Golf is a work thing which is a bonus, but i will have to nip into the office for a couple of hours this afternoon on my way back.

Then tomorrow is fascia. gutters and conservatory cleaning day.... Here's secretly hoping for a monsoon...

Logging one just to report that our shopping was a shade under £100 and will last us 2 weeks, so pleased with that. I've also listed 18 items this evening on ebay. We have perhaps 6 or 7 kids fancy dress costumes to list and then our pile in the corner will be no more... Well when I say no more, i mean no more for about 2 months...!

We also have 4 items with bids on that finish on Sunday evening.
